The workshop was organized along side the IEEE / RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) in Hamburg, Germany. The full-day workshop was successful and led to fruitful discussions between the invited speakers and the participants. Among the world-class invited researchers were Prof. Gurvinder Virk (Univ. of Gävle, Sweden), Björn Matthias (ABB Research, Switzerland), Dr. Reinhard Lafrenz (TU of Munich, Germany) and Prof. Andrea Bonarini (Politecnico di Milano, Italy). In addition to the talks, seven novel posters were presented from international researchers. The first hands-on panel discussion covered the challenging topic of drafting a universal HRI experiment that can be used both in industrial and social contexts while on the second part the panel addressed the hot topic of benchmarking human-robot interaction activities.
